Biographs: 

Brendan Cantwell is the Dr. Mildred B. Erickson Distinguished Professor of Higher, Lifelong, and Adult Education at Michigan State University, USA. His research addresses the political economy of higher education. In recent years he has been an active contributor to public scholarship on higher education. 

Laura Smithers is an Assistant Professor of Higher Education Leadership at the University of Nevada, Reno, USA. Her research focuses on the possible futures created and foreclosed by assessment regimes in higher education, incorporating sustained interests in critical and queer theories as well as pop culture.
